Our local economy has been stagnant for too long, and I'm committed to revitalizing it. Right here in Shreveport, we have an unemployment rate that's higher than the national average. This is unacceptable.
We're uniquely positioned to attract new industries like green energy and tech, thanks to our incredible resources and geographical advantages. I'll collaborate with local officials and businesses to create tax incentives and simplify regulations that will make Shreveport the go-to destination for innovation and investment. This will lead to high-quality jobs that our residents need and deserve.
Shreveport, your safety is my utmost priority. We've had too many incidents of violent crime in our neighborhoods, and that's got to change. A secure community starts with mutual trust between residents and law enforcement. That's why I'm a strong advocate for community policing.
We'll train our officers to be a part of the community they serve, engaging in dialogue and building real relationships. But safety isn't just about policing; it's about creating environments where crime is less likely to happen in the first place.
Election day is October 14th, and early voting begins September 30-October 7, excluding Sunday October 1st.
I propose exploring public-private partnerships to develop innovative and cost-effective long-term care options. By pooling our resources and ingenuity, we can create a system that ensures every senior in Shreveport has access to affordable, quality care. We owe it to our elders to make sure they can age with the dignity and respect they deserve.
Our schools in Shreveport are underfunded and our teachers are underpaid. This is a pressing issue we can't ignore any longer. With Caddo Parish schools facing academic struggles and budget cuts, we need action now more than ever.
I'll fight for proper funding to ensure that our students have access to modern learning tools and our teachers get the salaries they rightfully deserve.
Potholes, traffic congestion, and decaying bridges are not just an annoyance; they're a safety hazard and a barrier to economic growth. I'll advocate tirelessly for federal and state funding to upgrade our critical infrastructure. We'll start with the most urgent projects and work our way through a comprehensive plan that improves not just our roads and bridges but also our public transit systems. A better-connected Shreveport is a more prosperous Shreveport.
Funding for the arts has been consistently cut, affecting institutions like the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and the Shreveport Regional Arts Council.
A vibrant cultural scene will make Shreveport more attractive to new businesses and young professionals. I'll fight to increase funding for our arts programs and champion our local artists because investing in culture is investing in Shreveport's future.

I'll boost the local economy, create jobs, and support small businesses by attracting new industries, investing in infrastructure, and promoting workforce development to reduce unemployment and ultimately lower crime rates.
I'm focused on enhancing public safety, reducing crime, and improving law enforcement-community relations. I support community policing, crime prevention, substance abuse initiatives, and job creation in northwest Louisiana.
I'll develop innovative, affordable long-term care solutions, including exploring public-private partnerships, to ensure seniors don't exhaust their savings for quality care. We'll build a future where every Louisiana senior ages with dignity.
I'll prioritize strong public education systems, funding schools, supporting teachers, and providing resources for students. I'll address education quality concerns and advocate for workforce and higher education preparation.
I'm committed to fixing roads, bridges, and critical infrastructure, advocating for necessary repairs and enhancements to improve transportation and connectivity in our region.
Industries seek locations that will attract and retain a well-educated workforce who demand cultural amenities. I will fight to bolster our strong arts communities so that our area will have a competitive advantage.
